2008 Silverado new shocks and struts
Among other things I need to replace I want to put new struts and shocks on my truck. What is the lifespan of the strut spings? Should they be replaced as a unit or as long as the coils aren't broken anywhere can I just put new struts in? I can get a strut compressor to take them apart so that won't be an issue.Truck has 158000 kms on it ( 98000 miles ).

follow the strut removal procedure .. many have to do this because GM uses poor quality springs these last 30-40K miles .. use biltstien shocks ALL.. many videos on this process . after you do the work drive it 1,000 miles then do the alignment.. new springs will take a set then tires will not have odd wear issues . broken springs that is not common unless your a rock crawler .. |
