Angry 1990 fairlady z starter problems

i replaced the heads on this car (non turbo) everything went well untill i tried to start it. when i turned the key and engaged the starter it wouldnt disengage.i have tried everlthing new starter,new ign.switch,had comp. checked,new pos.and neg. bat. cables motor and body are grounded properly battery is fully charged. i double checked for pinched wires there are none. starter was working fine b-4 the heads swap. i can unbolt the starter from the block and it works fine but when i bolt it to the block it will not disengage. i have tried all relays,two new starters and a ecu from a running 300zx. everything else on the car works fine.i am ready to burn this thing to the ground can anyone help please.

Try twinturbo.net sounds you checked everything I can think of. Sorry.

try shimming the starter away from the flywheel. The starter bendix may be too tight against it.

thanks for the imput but i have tryied shimming it three different thicknesses anything u can think of is very helpfull thanks
