Throttle Adjustment
What do you guys think of this; found this in another board:
Adjust the throttle cable The throttle cable is one of the easiest ways to get a little more response out of our cars. Honda keeps extra slack in the cable for 'granny' drivers so they don't rear end people! The rest of us on the other hand WANT that extra jump off the line! Here is how... First get a set of wrenches to fit the two nuts. Then loosen the locknut enough to when you pull the cable, their is about half as much slack. Next, tighten the adjusting nut so the cable stays put. Your all set! All you need to do is make sure the car does not idle any higher once warm. Enjoy the added throttle response. Here's a much easier to follow steps in doing it: 1 - start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temp. 2 - loosen the locknut, (about 2-3 cm from the bracket) 3 - adjust the other nut (the one at back) to loosen it. 4 - pull the cable away from the throttle to remove the slack. 5 - while pulling lightly on the cable, screw the adjusting nut on the bracket. 6 - from there, start setting the nut to the desired level. too tight will prevent the engine from returning to idle after throttle was pressed. too loose will cause the slack to return. 7 - once desired position is made, re-screw and tighten the locknut. to get the best setting, do steps 6 and 7 then do a series of revs. check if the rev will go back to idle after pressing the pedal. Any thoughts about doing this?

Yup, did it, and love it! And the best thing is you don't have to buy anything other than wrenches, if you don't have (which would be strange in the first place). And the better thing about it is that it actually saves gas--that's right, since you don't floor the accelerator. The car moves at the slight step on it, so you don't need to push down hard. Unless you are always on race-mode (keeping your foot down on the accelerator most of the time), you save gas. I'll be observing on that one more, since I just did it, but so far I see that I actually saved more after adjusting the throttle cable.

i wouldnt go so far as to say that is saves gas. the motor is still receiving the same amount of air and fuel. the only difference is when its told to take in the extra air and fuel. the cable should be pulling the arm a little farther too, so WOT should be a little more powerful than before. i cant see any reason for better gas mileage though.
