My 85 4 speed has a few mods and it runs a mid to high 13 with street tires. the integra will get torn to pieces.

Re: 1/4 mile times for '85 vette
I have owned both 85 & 86 Vette's and anyone who say's they arn't fast should drive one, I handed almost every car I raced there ass and as with most GM engine's the Horsepower on these car's was underated, At englishtown, NJ . I ran a 14.1 with my bone stock 85 Vette

1985 had L98 motor which put down 200 hp and 300 lbs torque at the wheels. with a few simple mods you can make this go thru the roof. long tube headers alone add 25 rwhp and about 13 lbs of torque. The L98 was a very choked up engine that just needs some love to open it up. A great set of mods for a L98 for under 2k is Accel super ram intake, Hooker long tube headers, K&N air filter cut the air filter lid, Adj. Fuel pressure regulator, A chip from hypertech or what ever brand you prefer, and some 1.6 roller rockers with new springs. This should put you into the low 13s maybe even high 12s no problem.
Then you can roll up on C5s and ask how much they spent on their car as you beat their ass laughing the whole way. Oh yeah that integra doesn't stand a chance. |

Re: 1/4 mile times for '85 vette
actually the stock cfi motor had 205 hp with 265 tq but a simple manifold change can boost it to 260 hp alone. my cfi motor puts out about 400 hp off the back tires, but the block is the only origional motor part I still use.

Re: 1/4 mile times for '85 vette
The TPI in 85 Vette was 230 nhp (net hp) @ 4400 rpm and 330 lb/ft of torque @ 3200 rpm if i remembe correctly. My grandpa's 85 was stolen in Youngstown somewhere around 86-87. So he got an 87, which is SUPPOSEDLY slower than the 85, even with 240 hp and 345 lb/ft of torque. He had it up to *an indicated* 140 over on u.s. 6 between pymatuning valley and andover, over by the lake there..(if any of you are from northeastern ohio)

85 vette
my stock 85 with 3.07 gears went 13.7 with long tubes and dual ex. I then went 11.91 with a 150 shot.
Now it's mildly carbed ( still has 460 lift cam) and just went 12.76 on motor and 10.98 on the 150 shot. |
