Finding a fast 250cc bike in US

I have been looking at some of the 250cc bikes in the US but i have had no luck finding a good fast 250cc bike in the US. I have only found a ninja 250 that only tops out around 100 mph and thats the fastest bike i have found in hear thats a 250cc. You see i need a 250cc bike because there is a cc limmet for 15 year old motocycles licens. so if any one can tell me a bike that is faster than the ninja 250 and i can get it in the US please help. And if not could you tell me how to make the 250 ninja go faster?

100mph is damned fast learn to ride first before you ever think of shit like that wheelies and what not. grow up and learn to ride then you'll understand how fast 100 is. my 750cc hasn't been over 80 and will probbly never will be.

The first time I reached 60mph on a bike, I thought the wind was going to rip me straight off the bike. It's scary at those speeds. Besides, the only time you should be seeing those speeds (100+) is on an enclosed track. Get the Ninja 250, learn SAFELY on it, and upgrade after taking the MSF safety course and with a few years under your belt.

The only fast 250 I know of is very expensive and not road legal. The Aprilia RS250. Good luck finding one.

How about you just wait til you can get a REAL license??? Then you can buy whatever your little heart desires. Or maybe your dad will let you bore out a Ninja 250.

Hey bigshot193 maybe you should learn to spell before you learn to ride, get the Ninja 250 it is a great bike for little 15 year olds such as yourself. You want something faster grow up because at 15 your feet wont touch the ground on a bigger bike. You+145mph=death, oh and tell your dad that Harleys are gay.

Harleys kick ass. And if he wants to kill himself, who cares? Let him... just get a Ninja 250 for now then upgrade when you get your actual license.

145 on a Harley, on the street I am not against occasionaly 'opening it up' but if you plan on riding like that you wont be alive very long.

If you really want a performance 250, look into an Aprillia RS250. You will have to do some work to get it street legal.

The Ninja 250 is a slow bike, and will always be a slow bike. No matter what you do to it. ---It will still be small displacement---

Yes it is a slow bike but if he wants a 250 then I would suggest that.

I'm not sure about in the states but here in New Zealand there are quite a few old RGV250's around which the rs250 borrowed its engine off. It has 60hp and will see you over 200kmph. The only thing is that they are old and may not be as reliable and I read its the most likely-to-be wrecked bike due to newbies getting them.

A Kiwi, eh? 250s are pretty much the exception, and not the rule Stateside. Most people just go for the 600, so unless you're physically tiny or are REALLY shaky on bikes, no one gets the 250s.
