Wanting to sell a 1970 Karmann Ghia Convertible; advice on what to ask?
I recently moved in with my girlfriend, and her father has a 1970 VW Karmann Ghia convertible sitting on the property. It was, at one point, meant to be a restoration project, but he started to develop allergic reactions to the petroluem/oils so it has been sorta left sitting for a long while.
Apparently it was running perfectly before the project was put on hold--he'd put in a brand new "turbo" engine and it has less than 5000 miles on it, and a new dual carb--but it still needed a lot of the standard body work, new floor pans, and a new starter. The starter has been purchased just never installed... its sitting out on the shelf in the garage, still new in box. I want to help him sell it to get it off the property. I think it could still be a good restoration project for someone, even though it has been exposed to weather. Failing that... well, it would make an excellent parts car. Thing is, I know nothing about the worth of such a thing. So I'm wondering if anyone here could give me just a vague idea? Originally her father had actually just GIVEN the car to an old roommate who never switched over the title and left it behind, so anything at all that can be gotten for the car would be awesome--but that doesn't mean I want to undersell it, either. |

Thanks for the advice. I'll snoop around there and see what kind of comparisons I can come up with for this thing. It may be worth more than I thought, looking at that site.

I wish you all the power to get top dollars, looks like you can advertise on that site, do so if it's free, if not stay away, there are sites like craigslist and kijiji free that is very powerfull,,,, start high and after a few days if no bites start commimg down.
Hey, did you see the pictures of that 1964 where the guy wanted $750.,,, lol,,, it should have read paying $750. to remove.
