To Ferrari or not to Ferrari
!2 years ago I had an itch to do my "Jaguar Thing". I knew all about Jaguar's quality problems but if figured I'd be the guy that bought one and wouldn't have many problems. I scratched the itch and low and behold, the Jaguar was in the shop more than on the street.
Now in my 56th year I have another itch. You guessed it. I have a 308 or 328 GTS 4 valve ITCH. Now, if I was very careful to find a low mileage car that was taken care of, with the belts changed and everything, will the car be in the shop more than on the road? I would plan on driving the car a lot. |

Re: To Ferrari or not to Ferrari
It would still depend on how much you can afford of your money.

Re: To Ferrari or not to Ferrari
i read somewhere for the 308 that 4-5g a year, but i severly doubt that much on a car that has been taken car of, and has low miles(tho that money might include the gas money)

Re: To Ferrari or not to Ferrari
The real reason I wanted a Ferrari, besides for what it is, was to use it for Track Days, hillclimbs and a lot of street driving. I have come to the conclusion that I would be better of with a C6 Corvette, Z06 or a Cayman S or Boxster S. I really would like to do all that and have it be trouble free.

Re: To Ferrari or not to Ferrari
True that!!! Somethings just come at a price i guess... A corvette or a porshe will never come close to the feeling of owning a ferrari.

Re: To Ferrari or not to Ferrari
eh i dont know about that. i hate the vette's, i prefer vipers. and i mite b wierd for saying this but i'd rather take a porsche 997 turbo. just as much power plus awd, and as much of a legend as ferrari itself.
i'm actually looking at my second porsche, a black 944, i've had my lisence for 3yrs and it'll b my second. but ther are differences between ferrari and porsche, one's a lil cheaper and the other is much more of a track oriented car company. as for the porsche 911 not coming even close, i bet u if u took a porsche 911 turbo and launched it, you'd be pushed into your seat a lot more than with a ferrari, you can thank porsche's ability to make torque, another tihng ferrari seems unable to do and as for the cayman s, ur better off with a base model 911, a little more power, and a much better car for the track, plus porsche does have the Porsche Club of America
