Looks like the sample was built with Fujimi decals. Driver names should be white, but Fujimi mistakenly printed them in black.
Correct typeface and color is quite important in race car kits, and Aoshima isn't exactly experienced in the subject.

But overall looks better than the Fujimi. Not resemble this car from Dakar but Le Mans.

I really want to build this one

I think the only difference is the side panels on the rear wing. Am I missing another difference?

I'm planning to build this one also.

I have the Tabu decal sheet on the way from HLJ, along with the S27 Carbon set.

I think you are correct, the only difference I have been able to find are the rear wing end plates, and they will be pretty simple to scratch build. Fortunately the ducts forward of the front wheels are actually included in the Aoshima kit ( and incidently decals are included in the S27 Carbon set for these and the alternate bubble headlights)

Regards, Dan

The decal sheet looks great! AcuStion and Hobby Design are releasing detail sets for the Aoshima kit.

sam, look the fwd wheel:on the wheel arch before that u can see a squared air intake before the lower lip. this air intake is not present in aoshima model (look the pics in top of page posted by mickhail). it is not too hard to replace it, but is another little difference.

Paolo,

Actually Aoshima has included those vents in the kit, I have the Presentation version, the first release and the "P" tree has those parts, #s 118/9

opps, forgot to add this pic of the parts on the kit

As for the lens covers you mentioned above, if you want to do an FIA version with the "smooth" lenses, then the Presentation kit has those. For some reason Aoshima didn't include the "bubbled" Le Mans version, thus if you want to do a Le Mans version with the correct lenses you'll have to get Lark kit. But if you want an FIA car, get the Presentation kit, has the front vents and the smooth lenses. I would assume that Aoshima will include both lens sets with the Le Mans kit, but I would of expected that in the first release.....

I guess I'd better order my FIA decals soon, they look to be selling out fast. Does anyone know if Zero-paints has done the correct colours for the Gulf car shown above yet? Haven't seen them anywhere as of yet.

Re: Aoshima has a Supercar secret to share... its a M.....

We went over this gulf mclaren f1 blue over at another forum months ago.i was building 2 fujimi kits that I ended up trashing but the final conclusion was that ts58 pearl blue and porsche gulf blue mix came up with rather good comparrison.zero does the ts58.theres not a direct match of the blue it uses that we came up with.

I believe the Export version (Orange car on box) comes with both the bubble & smooth lens covers. Aoshima seem to be doing domestic & export version of each of their kits of late, doubling their sales....

Presentation version is 50% off at AmiAmi (at the time of this writing).
It'll offset the cost for aftermarket decals.

Sorry, but the overseas edition (or export version, as the people here know it), with the orange car in box DO NOT HAVE the bubble front light lenses ... ... I just receive mine ...

I suppose that Aoshima only will put them on LARK Le Mans edition ...
