Gas guage???

When I start my car the gas needle will go up to full then back to empty and then to full again and usually stays on full no matter how much gas I got, and sometimes if I sit still with the car running it will drop down to where it should be(as if reading normal) and then when I go again it will slowly go back to full again. Someone told me that I may have a wire off but not sure..Any ideas on what would cause this and how to fix it?

What year? More than likely you will need a new sending unit.

Yes agreed with HotZ28, its a really good chance that the sending unit is fried... Being an 00 you might just as well replace the entire pump assembly... Sending unit and all... Replacing the pump on these cars is not that hard either...
