Transmission
1997 Bonneville Transmission will work properly when Trans is cold, When trans warm up it will not move in drive or reverse.

If the pan is simply full of debris and sediment, clean it out, replace the transmission filter (make sure the old O-ring comes out with the old filter) install a new filter and gasket with the pan, fill the trans with fluid, flush the cooler lines and try iyt out. If you are lucky, it will work. BTW do not substitute a transmission 'flush'. They often do not help with this kind of problem. Yes, this is a gamble, but for about $40-50 investment, you have a good shot at saving $1500 - 2000. |
