New Car Options

Hi Guys, I've never really been on the Bonneville forum before, but I frequent the Grand Prix forum (as you can see).

Sometime in the near future (hopefully) I'll be making an addition to my garage. I'm probably going to keep the GTP, but I am considering either a bonneville or another grand prix.

I test drove a 2008 Grand Prix GXP the other day at the dealership. It had 20,000 miles on it and was loaded, 5.3 V8 displacement on demand, Dual exhaust, sunroof, black, black leather, heated seats, the whole shebang. They were only asking 16,900, which seems pretty reasonable. The dealer was going to give me 4000 for my car (which I was suprized given it has 115,000 miles). I figured if I put 3000 down, my payments wouldn't be too bad. I really liked the car and was ready to go for it. Then I checked insurance rates and dang near fell over. So for the time being I'm keeping the GTP.

I was also looking into the new bonneville GXP's. Tell you the truth, I like the looks of the newer bonnevilles over the Grand Prix's. I think I'm leaning towards a new bonneville. I havn't driven one yet. No dealerships around here have any.

Reason I'm posting is to get your input on these two cars. Can anyone tell me about the (4.6? V8) in the bonneville? Are they reliable? How many miles can I expect to get out of it?

Anything else I should consider?

Thanks!

Re: New Car Options

I just found out that the 4.6L V8 is GM's Cadillac Junkstar motor. Do the Bonneville GXP's come with a 5.3 V8 as an option by chance?
