Re: Eighties Contest Entry: Barry Sheene's 1980 YZR500
I visit this thread every day and it seems I have not posted anything.
And I still don't know what to say... I'm speachless and for me that's saying something. Truly Insperational work. Now how about tackling a 1:12 car ? |

Well, that's perhaps one of the finest models I've seen. Truly a classic masterpeice..
Please, build the FW24. I've got to build that yet, and I'd love to see how you tackle Tamiya's last F1 car. To see it being built with someone of your skill.. |

Re: Eighties Contest Entry: Barry Sheene's 1980 YZR500
Thanks again for the great comments!
I am considering changing the wheels to the 3 spoke layout that Barry used most often throughout the year! These will be offered in the new release that Tamiya have planned although they do look very similar to the wheels in the old Kawasaki 500GP bike that is still available. I'm hoping I find a reference picture with the original wheels in the mean time! I'll post some almost completed pictures later this week!

I decided you join the board on the strength of seeing work like this. Simply brilliant and inspirational. You wouldn't think that kit was 20+ years old in design. Youv'e done Barry's name proud and it's nice to see some of Barry's bikes surfacing as kits now. Have you finished it?? , I'd love to see the pics. |

Wow - missed this one - thanks for posting the finished pics. The build looks superb, a great tribute to Barry's memory. I only hope mine turns out half as good as yours. Nice one.
