Past Z Forum project updates
Outline your project and how its going
Car: 95 Z32 Twin Turbo Project code name: "Various Evil ****" Goal: Various evil ****, to include a lag free 500-550 rwhp Drivablity date: March 2005 Completion date*: July 2005 Status: Behind original schedule, on updated schedule - Everything except for the 530BB turbos, inconel manifolds, oil cooler, flywheel, test and downpipes and race timing belt has been purchased. The turbos and inconels will be last as they are the most expensive and can be bolted on right before dropping the engine in. I still have to put it back to together and fortunately/unfortunately I'll have plenty of time to do it. - Various tune up work on the engine has and is being done to include: various gaskets, hoses and cleaning - Engine is being rebuilt with stock heat coated and balanced pistons, ARP bolts all around, balanced stock rods, JWT cams and valve springs. Should be ready for pick up in a few weeks - Replacement OEM shift knob remains as yet uninstalled. New floormats are currently matting the floor of my apartment. *Refers to the current laid plans, as more will always be found to do to your car once its "done" This post will be updated as needed.

Car: 1986 N/A 300zx Coupe
Current Mods: Custom headder-back catless exhaust w/ pro flo muffler Mods in the near future: '90 Stanza throttle body conversion popcharger... if broke gets his act in gear! Mods in the future: new hood... mine's pretty messed up... new rotors/pads... maybe an ss kit perhaps some cheap 16" rims not really going to do a whole lot more with this car as it has pretty high miles on it (163xxx ish) hopefully find a buyer for it after i have saved up a bit of cash and buy a nice z31t or z32... on the other hand... there is a nice z31t motor sitting in the junkyard just waiting to be taken.. we'll see... Car: Nissan 300zx N/A AT 2+2 Performance mods As of Now: Stillen Cat-Back Exhaust JWT Pop-Charger i also had a JDM 99' front bumper installed and a 90-93 TT replica spoiler installed. i think my goal is to have a ~500rwhp street machine but my hope is to have ~350rwhp by late march, early april of 2005...as money has been a problem this winter i will not be able to complete what i first wanted to do. go figure... performance items i still need to purchase to meet my spring of 2005 goal: -VG30DETT motor -Z1's ported exhaust manifolds -Honed/Powder-Coated upper plenum -split-flange downpipes & testpipes -ECU upgrade -lightweight flywheel -1-piece steel driveshaft -koyo radiator -UD pulley -PE Kevlar Timing Belt i recently bought a TT manual tranny and all hydraulics and pedals to complete the 5-speed swap, so all i have left to purchase is the twin-turbo part of the swap... i have the money to buy most of the absolutely needed parts to comlete the TT conversion, but i am awaiting money to purchase the motor itself and the upgrades i want to do. there are also many various other things that i want to purchase before spring but they are not performance mods so i didnt mention them. __________________________________________________ __________ Car: 1986 300zx n/a 2-seater: current mods: -custom cat-back exhaust and hollowed catalytic convertor things i have left to do to the Z31 to get it to be my daily driver... -finish primering it (leaving it primer gray until winter is over) -finish spark plug and wire replacement -fix headlights -fix heater I just realized how much i need to get to work on getting this car running...i have spent all my time finding the parts i need for the Z32 re-creation.

Alright, I know this is necroing like a crazy mofo but as there has been several inquires as to the status of various projects, perhaps it is time for this mess again.
Remember, just edit your post, don't need a bunch of pages about the same thing. Punks.

Re: Past Z Forum project updates
I'm still far-away from 'Project VG32DE'... No other mods as of yet. Maybe by the New Year?

Project: Z3WHAT?
Goal: To make my dream supercar. Eventually hoping for sub 4 second 0-100km/h, maybe 11-12sec quarter. Status: Currently swapping in VG30DE engine. Still a few things need to be done however. I also have a spare VG30DE that i will begin working on once my car is up and running. Plans: Forced Induction - either screw charger or dual centrifugal, nitrous of course. Exhaust - Tuned length headers, dual exhaust with dual hi-flow cats Heads - Solid lifters, good set of agressive cams to take advantage of reduced backpressure, titanium valve springs. Block - Forged pisons, strengthened conrods etc. Intake - Dual MAF (or MAP) with separate cone filters Electronics - Custom realtime-calculation ECU in development (as a university final project) With all this I'm hoping to be pushing 600-700hp (maybe more), with the engine redlining at 10k rpm. -Mike |
