Righteously inverted intercoolers.

But do remember that outfits like Mallet and Lingefelter (that right?) pull 4 digit horsepower out of 350s all the time. Its a proven motor that makes big, reliable power. We shall not get into a "better than ______" discussion with this. No more needs to be said on this subject.

That will really depend on what happens with the world market and how the Japanese government decides to regulate their domestic market as well. For a long time they decided that they would regulate emissions via engine size, which kept emissions down and limited how much power you can pull from them. You still had to pass an emissions test but that was the basic idea. Then everyone slapped turbos on everything they made and put in precats if they didn't pass emissions, called it good.
In America, you can have a 20 liter as long as it passes the EPA standards. Anyway...we'll see. As for Quote:

Re: time to pick your jaw off the floor....
People are bitching that the new R35 is rumored to have a VH45DE in it (USDM version, JDM version will be powered by the VQ35DETT... So i've been hearing)
My view on this: WHO CARES! I'm buying one regardless! V8's are fine with me... I was trying to find a VH (out of a Q45) for out project Z32, doubt it would fit though. Flylwsi : Like your Prelude by the way, nice and clean, the Anti-Rice

Broke as ****...lucky bastard..... What kind of performance you getting out of that thing with all that done? (I feel like I've asked you this before, but I don't think I have...)
Any Skyline without an I6 is just sacrilage. That car has a long, successful lineage behind it...why they would change ANYTHING MAJOR about the car like that, I don't know. I'd be very bitter. It's like Porsche putting a V8 in a 911...it's just not right.

Re: time to pick your jaw off the floor....
Ok... Seeming as the older Sky's had FJ20's in them (inline fours)...
People were not happy when this "All Wheel Drive, and All Wheel Steering" came into Skylines picture. Or hell, even the Twin Turbo detail. People are naturally afraid of change. I would REALLY like to see an RB30 make a come back in the R35... But I think the world should get a taste of a VH45 powered Skyline... Maybe another change will happen someday, but for now, I think the VH will make an AWESOME engine to the GTR.

The fours were a way long time ago. The I6 has been in it for the past 3 generations and they are the generations that I believe have made the biggest impact on the sports car world. This is why I can't see why they would get rid of all they've done. They've tweaked the I6 to the point it is now by doing little things over the past few generations...now they're gunna totally drop that engine and all that progress they've made with it and start all over again...doesn't make sense.

Re: time to pick your jaw off the floor....
Well once again... In the JGTC, Nissan used VQ30DE's (tuned VERY high) for the Skylines. and even the Supras were running 1UZ GTE's (Lexus SC430's power train)... Which is a V8. I think in one race even, they slapped in the VH, and it did better than the RB did. Perhaps this is why they MAY be leaning towards this new V8 point of view, for Skyline.
Like i've said before, I would LOVE to see the RB30 make a come back... Buit who knows. -Wes

Re: time to pick your jaw off the floor....
The RB series engines (along with the SR) are dead! Sure... there is still a market for parts for these types of engines... but due to the new Emission laws in Japan... you will no longer see them in the newer cars. The rumored engines for the new GTR is rumored to be anything from a Twin Turbo V6 to a NA V8... nobody knows for sure. We will just have to wait it out and see. I wonder if any of us will be able to afford it anyway! Rumored prices are $50K- to well above $70K! Lets hope it's no more than $50.....
As for change... change is good! Someone already mentioned it before... but The Skylines and GTR's were I4's non-turbo for the longest! It was not until the R30-31's they decided to slap a turbo on... a few generations later... came the Twin Turbo and AWD... awhile longer and we got the AWS. As you can see: The SKYLINE is an evolving and magnificent machine! The Z is the same! Did you notice? The newest edition of the Z no longer has turbo's! But it is still a great car! A V8 powered (twin-turbo or not) SKYLINE (or any other car) would be great! Imagine the possibilities! You can get gobs of power off a V8! No 350's in my NISSAN's though!

Re: time to pick your jaw off the floor....
I prefer I6s or V6s. I'm apparently the oddball out.
