C5 automatic

Hoping to get a c5 in the next week or so, I've been driving a stick for years and love it but I'm considering getting the automatic so my wife can drive it. (I know I know) anyways we test drove one today and she seemed really happy behind the wheel(as she should be it's a corvette) and it was in great condition 01 with 30k miles on it always garaged. was wanting to know how some of the users on here with automatics feel about them, and how they seem to hold up

Re: C5 automatic

As a GM technician, I have overhauled more 6 speed manuals than automatics in Vettes. I haven't seen many other techs going into them either. The rear seal between the trans and differential will leak occasionally but other than that, not many problems. The auto isn't as fun to drive of course but they seem to hold up fine.

Re: C5 automatic

Bought the automatic today. I can't even descibe the condition of the car it's practicy brand new Didn't really set until we were leaving 5 guys(burger joint) and there were 10+ people admiring it. They looks pretty surprised to see me and my wife drive off in it as I just turned 25 a week ago. Best birthday present ever!!!!

Well, first of all I think you need to provide a picture. And secondly, I have an automatic ('06 C6) and I like knowing that the computer is controlling the shifting and computers don't make mistakes.
