For those who have built Tamiya Z34 (370Z)

Guys, i'm working on a Z34 and a question came to my mind when i saw the decal sheet, it have a decal to reproduce this orange part on the right side

The question is, what would you do/did use the decal or paint it with orange clear?

What do you guys think?

Thanks for helping me out.

Strange that they would use a decal for that. I presume this is the indicator? I would use clear orange.

Agreed, painted usually looks better.

The reason they included the decal is probably the awkward shape of the turn signal.

I'm wondering if the orange at the top isn't a light effect, or a simple reflect inside the light pod, because on the pic linked by Ales it doesn't seem so orange...
I also think the turn signal is the "boomerang" orange on the side. But I can be wrong, it's not really clear...

The top light is the turn signal. The corner piece is just a clear orange reflector without a bulb.

^ Like he said, the top is the signal bulb, the bottom right is the orange reflector.

That's probably right, you don't seem to doubt of it, but in this case why do some videos visible on youtube not show it but show a white light coming from the top bulb as for road lights...?? are those lights all modified ones ? And where is the turn signal on those ones then...??

I didn't found on youtube any video that shows the top bulb with the lights on and on the videos i found it shows a translucent bulb.. what doesn't mean anything, cause you can have a translucent bulb that reflex an orange light...

On the Tamiya manual it says that the top bulb is the signal, but i still in doubt

Re: For those who have built Tamiya Z34 (370Z)

the indicator is the part labelled.
the orange part on the side is an orange coloured reflector.

i saw a headlight unit someone stripped down to do a little conversion of the reflector into a strip of leds.
don't have a photo.

Re: For those who have built Tamiya Z34 (370Z)

Cris, I was refering to your linked video, which shows bluish light from the whole lightpod, but took a look again to the list of related videos on the right of it.
I found one with leds custom lightpods too but normal light and original top bulb...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q4TLB...eature=related
Modified lights but we clearly see at the end of the video that the top bulb stays the turn signal.

Wow.. very nice car definitely ... i'll work on the 370Z lights today.. and i'll follow this schema with the top bulb painted on orange.

Thank you very much for everybody who have been involved on this discussion.

Regards,
