Back lights and Instrument panel does not light up
I have a 06 Torrent. My instrument panel does not light up and my back lights do not work. The break lights and back up lights work, but the lights in the back that are to be on when driving at night do not light up along with the instrument panel.
Is this a fuse? I checked the fuse box, but I do not see anything that says lights? |

Re: Back lights and Instrument panel does not light up
OK, if you manually turn your headlight switch to Park, the rear park lights do not light? What about the front park lights?
There is a PARK fuse in the I/P fuse block, and it powers the front and rear lamps .....there is also a Park LP relay that is grounded by the BCM.....but if fronts are ok and rears are off, the fuse and relay are ok.... As for your cluster, is the HVAC, radio, transmission shifter indicator, etc., lit up? If not, check your dimmer switch..... |

Parking lights and instrument panel are on the same circuit. Find the blown fuse and go from there.

Steal, I don't think they are......the instrument panel lights are on the dimmer circuit, the park lights are not....

Re: Back lights and Instrument panel does not light up
The instrument panel runs through a dimmer, but almost every car I've ever seen the parking lights are on the same circuit as the instrument cluster. It's like that so if the fuse blows you know you don't have parking lights.

Re: Back lights and Instrument panel does not light up
Totally agree with above statements. Cars have been that way forever--my Dad's 1967 Caprice had the instrument lights on the same circuit as the tail lights- this is for SAFETY- it lets you know that you do not have tail lights! Totally agree- fix the tail light circuit and all will be fine. Do not drive at night with out tail lights

Re: Back lights and Instrument panel does not light up
Not in this day of BCM's.....
Looked up the circuits......both are controlled by the BCM.....but each circuit is powered by a different fuse.... |

That fixed the problem. It was a fuse on the passenger side of the car. Thanks. |
