Yeah, what gives with Makinen(makinin?)? He had 4 great years and 4 great championships with Mitsu! To be fair, they did make the new EVO ugly....

The car pictured was a Marcos Mantis LeMans GT2, I used to watch them race in GT-2 before they broke up the class(god damned ass faced crappy bastards!). It used a 6 liter Chevrolet V8, which I think was based off of the LT-5 I think, but don't quote me on that.

They weren't too competitive, but they always showed up, and won a couple races. Too bad they didn't win more races, Marcos might not have gone under...

the car is the Marcos Mantis LM. I think they raced them in LeMans a few times???

Marcos are from here in britain, they make the Mantis mainly and a few other models, but they are as rare as rocking horse shit. there is sometimes the odd one at track days, but not very many of them. The Mantis road car uses a 4.6l V8, and sounds the bollox, altho i heard the handling aint so great

Yeah, the official name was the LM600, for Lemans 6L, I gues 600 was just better sounding than 6, or 6000cc...

Yeah, they also took them to Lemans, but they just weren't fast enough. I'm pretty sure most of them finished the race...

So, Le Mans is next weekend

I sent the picture of that car to a friend of mine who worked for Panoz in down in Georgia. He said it is a Gillet Vertigo. They have a picture of one in stock form at www.supercars.net.

I was lookin on the Marcos website and it showed this is the Marcos Mantara LM600 EVO racing in the Zandvoort 500km in Holland. Different picture but obviously the same car as the one the thread is based on

Re: What is this?

the top secret gt 300 supra has the mr 2 engine which chucks out 750bhp and weighs vertualy nothing and looks gorgeouse and is based upon the jgtc racers. The top secret supra that did 190mph in britian is a different supra and has around 1000bhp...not sure if you were talking about that but it seems relavant
