Turbo Exhaust on a Non-Turbo
I know that the GSX and GST exhaust systems have much larger diameters. That being said, I plan to get a turbo kit for my RS. Can i go ahead and get a turbo exhaust for a GSX without damaging anything right now? I really want to get a 3" exhaust system for now.

Re: Turbo Exhaust on a Non-Turbo
Are you talking a cat-back only or what? The header/manifold will be different. The cat-backs I wanna say that you can use them, but that's all.
You can get a large-sized exhaust made specifically for a RS. They're not hard to find.

Re: Turbo Exhaust on a Non-Turbo
The GSX exhaust won't fit. The bends are different to accomodate for the differential. The GST exhaust would bolt up though and would help you out as far as power goes. Probably just as cheap to have an exhaust custom bent for you at a shop though unless you get a good deal on the GST exhaust. IIRC the GST exhaust was 2.5" and that's about perfect for an RS/GS. 3" is wayyy too big, you will lose too much torque and not get much more power out of it than a 2.5". And it adds more weight...

Re: Turbo Exhaust on a Non-Turbo
Yeah just the cat-back. I just wanted to make sure that the manifolds for the turbo and non turbo ended up at the same place. Is the GSX exhaust clear for my 2wd model. I mean the AWD has all the extra components that alter the path of the muffler tube right? Or should I stick with the GST?

Re: Turbo Exhaust on a Non-Turbo
Why dont you just get a 2.5" RS/GS exhaust?
3" actually is quiter than smaller diameters I think. Resonators quiet shit down and they are bigger diameter than the piping so why wouldnt it apply to the whole exhaust? |

Re: Turbo Exhaust on a Non-Turbo
turboing an rs is not easy, and well, for the price of the kit you prolly are gonna get and the car you have if its in good shape, you could prolly buy yourself a gst for the money. the rs and the gs (all of them) models have two completely different engines.
as for the question, it would prolly be better to get an exhaust shop make you a 2.5in system (dont go bigger unless you get serious with that turbo) from the cat-back and you would have more options on what it would look and sound like.
