97' dodge avenger Remote start help?.
Hey guys wondering if anybody has experience installing remote start systems for cars? im pretty good on cars but not sure on this
i have a giordon remote starter that i bought for my 1997 dodge avenger 2.5L v6 that starts it and locks and unlocks doors. which mine has automatic locks and alarm. i don't know where to begin although. if i would need a wiring diagram or if this would just be a plug in play kind of thing. Any help would be appreciated |

Even if you have a t-harness for the start feature, this won't be plug and play. You'll need to wire in the remote lock feature, the door pin trigger, switched power, constant power, and depending on the style of locks and if the remote start system has internal relays, you may also need to install relays for the power locks. If you want parking light flash, horn honk, interior illumination, etc., you'll need to wire those in and you may also need relays for some of these. Then there's the shock sensor and, if an FM system, the remote dipole antenna.
You'll definitely want some good wiring diagrams for the car. -Rod |
