or just pull e-brake handle for one tooth. It will not cause any brake drag.

Hey cboy2us, can you please give a detailed describtion on how to disable the ALC in my Pontiac 2004 grand am? I already disabled the DRL's.

Car has been gone for over a year and I don't remember the colors of the wires going to the sensor, but I would recommend finding them at the BCM. There was five volts between the wires when the sensor was disconnected or close to that when it was dark but it dropped down when it was light outside to 2-3v so all you would have to do is put a zener diode or shunt regulator of somewhere close to 2-3v across the lines (watch polarity) to disable. I put a switch in series with my zener diode so I could disable the override and switch back to auto. If you are good with a multimeter you can measure the current going through the sensor when it is really bright. If it is less than 18mA or so you could just use a blue or white LED across the sensor as it would act as a shunt regulator and clamp the circuit down to about 3v.
If anyone can provide a pinout of the BCM and color diagrams for the light sensor and BCM I'll see about putting together a schematic. |
