Thumbs up 1999 Grand Am fuel filter line O-ring

Hey there everyone, I need to know the type (material) and size (in either in or mm) of the O-ring that lives in the plastic side of the fuel line where the fuel filter plugs into. Mine is leaking so I'd like to have the right size before getting into it. Thanks a bunch!

Re: 1999 Grand Am fuel filter line O-ring

They do sell repair kits for those lines.......just go to your local auto parts store.......you cut the end of the line off, and attach the new end.....or you can try to transfer the inner parts to your old line.....

More often than not, a leak is caused by dirt getting in there, or when jamming the new filter in there, you disrupted something....

Re: 1999 Grand Am fuel filter line O-ring

Welcome to AF autowill !

Your post has been moved to better your response.

Ive had the same problems before with the O ring leaking. I wouldnt waste my time or money on replacing the line unless its damaged, other than the O ring.

You wont be able to buy a specific O ring, usualy only sold in assortment packs.

Its best if you can get the old O ring out to compare it. which it has to come out anyways to replace it. not an easy task but can be done.
You'll just have to fish it out with a very small screw driver, or stiff wire with a small hook at the end to get the O ring out of the grove it sets in.
The hard part is getting the new one in! I used a small straight slot screw driver and worked it down the hole. Then easily worked it into the grove.

Good Luck!
