That was just a statement... meaning it would be a hell of a task...!!
and personally a waste of time..

Well for all those EVO lovers in this tread here is a quick fact for you.

A couple of months ago at a local drag strip I got to line up against a stock standard EVO VI. I though yea right this will be over quickly. 4wd light weight EVO against a GTS-t!

Well as you would expect he got me off the line and to my suprise I passed him at just over mid track on my way to beat him by .4 of a sec!

Now I have run against stock standard or farily standard R32 GTRs and they have just opened a can of woop ass on me every time. The R34 is even quicker in factory trim.

The R34 GTR just has it all over the EVO in factory trim everywhere except on the dirt, where the GTR is just too heavy to compete. Though put them on the tarmac and all the EVO will see is the lovely after burner tail lights :finger:

I didn't mention that I also had 10 mph on him

Now considering they are rated the same hp in factory trim as a GTR ( R32, R33, R34) makes you wonder who is telling the truth! I believe the EVO is rated at 205kw factory or 280 hp, but no way is a heavier car at the same hp rating going to be 1 1/2 seconds quicker !:finger:

your also forgetin that in the november 1999 issue of sports compact car in the U.S. they had a R33 GT-R competin in the stock class Pikes Peak hill climbin contest. Rhys Millen won the race against a all wheel drive Porsche and the Impreza WRX by around 2.6 seconds ahead of the porsche and around 10 secs faster then the WRX. this is stock for stock. Rhys Millen also broke his personal best record by around 9 seconds. and remember, hes not use to drivin on the right hand side. sooo skylines can be thrown around the dirt pretty quick too if it was configured for it to.

That is so true Tatll . The car Millan used was a face lift model R33 GTR Vspec that was prepped for the hill climb. Just keep in mind though the EVO was designed as a rally car full stop. Those cars are awesome off road for sure.

also the R33 has a longer wheel base then the current R34. yeah the longer wheelbase will give it more better straightline stablity. but its not ideal for tackling hard sharp corners. but it still did fine, now imagine them doin it on a R34 with a shorter wheel base and a more agressive ATTESSA (or something like that) and a totally electronic and computerized HICAS. it could do some crazy lap times.

Actually he R34's in the JGTC class in Japan are not doing so well. The Supra's and NSX's are kicking some serious ass. The Calsonic was the highest rate last time I looked but after a system failure I lost the book mark and haven't check in the past month and a half.

I think Nissan made a mistake with the R33 and now the R35. They are too rounded. The R34 was agressive looking yet very functional not to mention a true techno monster.
It is a shame lads the R34 seems to be the last of the beasty breads and the true Skyline as we know it. Nissan has lost the plot and we as the public lose

Well since the Skylines have dominated for so long it is ok for someone else to finally hold their heads up. It has a been a bad year for the Calsonic team with 4 DNF's. The certainly did not help their total points.
