calculation of wheel angular speed from gear ratios
If I know that a car has a gear ratio of 3.23:1 for the first gear with a wheel diameter of 0.715 metres and does 65 mph @ 7500 rpm in first gear, how can I calculate the angular velocity of the wheel ?
would it just be 7500 rpm / 3.23 = 2321 RPM @ Wheel ? |

Re: calculation of wheel angular speed from gear ratios
Quote:
Engine RPM/ Gear Ratio = Approx Driveshaft RPM Driveshaft RPM / Final Drive Ratio = Wheel RPM Pi * Wheel Diameter * Wheel RPM = Speed of Vehicle Units depend on whatever you use. |
