intercooler design

has anyone created a system that uses freon to cool the air (like a/c)?

dei has their co2 charged intake tube, and an intercooler sprayer that use co2, which is realllly cold...

i think it's deiengineering.com

zex nitrous has a kit that sprays nitrous onto the intercooler.

The new re-designed Lightning that is comming out in a year or so has the new "supercooler" which uses the refridgerant to cool the intake air, and adds an instant 50hp for 30-45 secs bursts...pretty awesome...check it out

kit has a pretty nice setup that can cool your intake, incoming fuel, and your i/c... and it's cheaper than the nitrous setup...

you'd get more power/cooling from the nitrous by spraying it into the intake tube, instead of on the cooler... spray before the cooler, and it cools even more...

agreed but you have to compensate for the nitrous introduced making things more complicated.

There are intercoolers used in dragracing which are using icewater or CO2. Sadly, they can only be used once since they then needs a refill.

Nitrous should be injected into the engine instead since it has the largest cooling effect in the cyllinders under the compression phase.
