Are new and old 5 lugs different?

I have a 67 Mustang Coupe that needs wheels. What years are the lug nut patterns the same for the 5 lug wheels. Are they different, like say, 94 and up or something? Before I got this Mustang, we had an 88 Convertible. It had 4 lugs, so I thought they all had 4 up to 93, but this has 5. Now I'm guessing the older ones with a 6 cylinder where the ones with the 4 lug. My 88 was a GT with only 4. Not sure why when the 67 has 5. The 67 has a 289. What was the purpose of the 4 lug wheels anyway when they already have a 5 lug?

Re: Are new and old 5 lugs different?

I do know now, that the wheels from my 71 Dodge Charger fit it. The question still remains, will the newer Mustang 5 lugs work on the older Mustang, like my 67?
