99 altimas

i'm not too up on altimas. I'm going to be getting my wife a car in the up comming months. I've been thinking of looking at the 99 or so altima (whatever generation they were making in 99).

Can anyone give their opinion on these cars?

I've also been thinking of an 01 and up civic(that is my preference), 97-02 Camary, or anything that is decent and at a good price.

Re: 99 altimas

it will all depends on what you want the car for.. if is for looks then altimas can look very nice with a body kit.. if is for speed then go another route even though there has been a few altimas with a decent 1/4 mile time..

Re: 99 altimas

I have both a 98 altima se and camry ce v6. My biggest complaint on the camry is the brakes, it seems to take forever to stop. It is 4 wheel disc, stock. For the altima, its the low end power. All in all, if I had to choose between the two, it would be the camry: better power (V6), larger interior.

Go with the Camry. It is a great car, better with the V6, and will last you forever. It's a Toyota after all!
