New Supercar, german jointventure w/ Audi

This is the "Gumpert (<- this name sucks) Apollo".

It has a 4,2l V8 Bi-turbo with 650 HP and 810 Nm of torque.
It's reaches 0-60 in slightly under three seconds. Max speed 360 km/h, without any tacky wings.

And will cost only 176000€, which is a fair price I think.

additional specs: 1100kg, five valves/cylinder, sequential 6 gear, adjustable suspension 20-100mm.

The looks aren't the best in my opinion, but this thing is built for the track. The manufacturer says, it's only competitor could be the Maserati MC12. Zonda and Koenigsegg are more comfy luxury-cars, he adds.

the production will start soon, 80 units per year which will be raised to 150 units per year.

It sort of reminds me of the Porsche Carerra GT from the rear, and some sort of wierd Lamborghini from the front. If the engine is the 4.2L V8, how could they find 650 HP in it. The turbo I cant imagine makes the extra HP.

huh? I mean - two big turbos on a 4.2l V8...

oh, and the engine is build and optimized by MTM, a tuner famous in Germany and Dubai.
They built a twin-engine Audi TT with the 1.8l pushing 860HP for example!

Watch this! http://www.mtm-online.de/imgneu/vide...ips/nardo2.mov
its... quite fast...

you call yourself a porscheguy, but you question small literage and big horsepower? that's what porsche is based on! just look at the gt2:
inline 6 3.6L twin-turbo and 462 horspepower. V8, 4.2L twin-turbo, 650HP would be easy.
thinking that you need huge displacement is so american. just take the viper for example. 8.3L! that's a huge engine. i'm not saying that's a bad thing, just because american muscle rocks, but don't think that you need a huge engine for huge horsepower

Re: New Supercar, german jointventure w/ Audi

its called "gumpert" because the head of audi quattro Gmbh is called gumpert, last name, an he's in charge of this operation i think, at the moment there's only two of these cars in existence, i've seen one in the flesh. the engine's out of a RS6, its twin turbo an twin intercooled, from what i read it needs a lot more work to perfect it. i have an issue of EVO with all info on the gumpert group an the car

And I thought the Bugatti Veyron looked bad, this is 10X worse.

Good design, but "4,2l V8 Bi-turbo with 650 HP and 810 Nm of torque"? They could do better. Put a W-12 in it, something like the veyron's.

Though that will bump the price up, with the tube chassis and all 650hp is sick...
