Cheers Erik; not bad for a man with hardly any sleep and always with an ear and eye on both kids whilst on the computer

I'll see what else I can add when the kids are asleep

Here's the slightly different version of the Orange/Black that it wore at Silverstone in 1996:

Re: Location of GTR's - Index

11R still owned jointly by Mr Schwanke and an unknown Swedish person. Thought I had managed to get the funds in July but once a again things fell through.
Still fancy 11R of the GTR's available but time will indeed see.

Re: Location of GTR's - Index

One would think that with a total of 6 photos of #03R that you'd have captured all of it's liveries, however the ArtSports/Tag Heuer livery worn at LeMans 1996 was missing. This might not be the best photo, but it was what I had hosted:

The Marlboro livery was worn by two GTRs - #12R and #15R - at the Zuhai, China race in the 1996 BPR GT series. I can't be certain which one your photo is of under 15R as there's no race number and no coloring at the edges of the windshield banner. Here's two shots - one with #12R wearing race number 2 and one of #15R which would have been wearing race number 6. The only way I can tell that the second shot is #15R is because of the red coloring at the edges of the windshield banner. In all the shots of #12R the stickering there was yellow as in the first picture.

#10R at LeMans Pre-Qualifying in 1996:

#11R at Sothebys auction in Monaco in 2000.

#19R's "Nicos" livery from the 1999 JGTC series:

Here's #08R wearing the FINA Presentation livery:

That's all I have to add for now. I'll be back for more if I think of anything else.

Most definitely: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...8&postcount=30
Note: At the time that thread was made, the West Adrenalie GTR chassis number was still thought to be 04R.

I think it was BMW.WilliamsF1Team who originally found and shared that image here:

Damage doesn't look all that bad, but there's been no confirmed sightings of 14R since that I recall.

I think the most recent sighting was at an event in Canada and prior to that it appeared at the 2007 Amelia Island Concours in Florida held in March. I'll have to ask Stephan Bauer what event the car was at in Canada next time I see him online - maybe it wasn't even Canada.
Found out from Stephan that #17R appeared in downtown Montreal at a BMW exhibition during the weekend of the 2007 Canadian Formula One Grand Prix in June. His photos appear on this SC.net page for those who had not seen them:

Re: Location of GTR's - Index

There were two longtail GTRs that wore the LARK livery in 1997. It's not always obvious that there were two, as both cars wore race number 44 in the two different events they competed in.

Chassis #27R wore it at the 1997 24 Hrs of LeMans. Drivers were Keiichi Tsuchiya, Akahiko Nakaya and Gary Ayles. The car did 88 laps and failed to finish.

Chassis #19R wore it at the Pokka Suzuka 1000km race on August 24th 1997. The car was entered by Team Lark McLaren & Team Goh with Keiichi Tsuchiya, Masanori Sekiya, Akihiko Nakaya doing the driving. They finished 9th overall.

The easiest way to spot the difference in photos is that tobacco advertising in motorsports had been banned by 1997 in Japan, so 19R featured a lined out (or in some instances, blocked out) LARK logo instead. Also, at LeMans 27R had a "Warsteiner" windshield banner and race number decals, with "BMW Japan" on the rear wing. At Suzuka 19R's windshield banner said "BMW Japan" the race number decals were plain and the top of the wing was blank.

EDIT: This post is not my best work - see below for clarification.

I never knew that; I'll now have to spend the rest of my evening sorting out my #19R folder

Gah! I do have it backwards...

That's what I get for posting while sleeping. Have I mentioned I am not a morning person...

Okay - take everything I wrote about the descriptions of the cars and reverse it. Clean LARK logo in Japan on 19R, messy one at LeMans on 27R.

All better...?
