Integra Type-R vs. Camaro 3800 (3.8l V6)
The Carmaro has a more power and much more torque dispite it being heavier but the Type-R is very light and one of the best handling cars in the world. I can't really chooz they are both so different but I think it would be interesting if we saw both in a race. (on the track not in the street)

Well, seeing as how a friend of mine has a v6 camaro, and although its a blast to drive...there doesn't seem to be too much aftermarket for it. I'll take the integra, slap on an SC or turbo, and have fun

i agree on the itr... simply b/c of power to weight ratios...
the only question i have is for GOD... why are american cars pieces o' shit? what if it were the camaro ss w/ 300 somethin hp, nice fat hood scoop and some sick vette zr1 rims on it ( those rims are an option)???? is that a pos? what about a saleen mustang? or a c5 vette, or a zo6? you like to knock every american car as if they are evil... if i really wanna start something, i could ask about the focus svt, with 170 hp, 145 tq, and a six speed... and a nice interior... is that a pos too? and i realize that i am picking higher models of cars, but we all love to compare the itr ( a factory race car for all practical purposes) to non-top of the line models of cars... the itr should kill a v6 camaro... but a camaro ss w/ the ram air hood... thats a fight... and im not tryin to flame, but i am trying to clarify that it should be known that not ALL american cars are brickshitters... |

I love z06 , ws6 trans am those are some of the american cars i love . I really hate mustangs b/c where i live everyone and there family and dogs have one . I just have this love for imports more than anything .....just fixin up little 4 cylinders and being able to beat a rustang and to see the look on there face . I dunno maybe im just weird

Yeah, GOD, recall that in the MT battle of the brands, the Z06 took the second fastest lap around the track (faster than the 911 turbo)! The only car faster was the 360. That's impressive, considering it was one of the cheapest of the bunch.
However, that being said, I somewhat agree...not that they are pieces of shit, but that they are less reliable. But, this really is a pretty good match up in my book.

Oh, yeah...
I've driven a Mustang GT , a mustang V6, and a Camaro 3.8... The Camaro was closer in performance to the GT than the 'Stang V6, IMO. Great fun to drive, and it actually handled pretty well for such a big car. The Rear whell drive aspect was great fun...blip the throttle going around a corner and the back end swung right out. Let off and it grabbed, ready to go straight ahead again. Seriously, if this is taken in terms of a modifaction comparison, I think the camaro wins hands down. With some minor tweaking I think it would handle like a dream, and it's already got plenty of power to boot. Either get a SC, or just do some NA tuning and you got yourself plenty of power and some good handling. Fun stuff.

Did anyone else follow the Motorola Speedvision Cup that past couple years? There were a couple Realtime Racing ITRs that just cleaned up every week, and I think they were racing against Mustangs and Camaros. Or were they in a different class? Doh! Now I can't remember. I'll have to look it up...

i know that in speedvision's races, the tegs were in touring, whereas the stangs were in gt...
but i know that some races had them all together... but they are still in different classes in those races... based on whether they are fwd/rwd, power, engine size, and all that shit... it all boils down to power to weight... as long as that number is the same or very similar, it doesnt matter how many cyls or the total power... oh, thanks GOD for not gettin angry at me, i just wanted to point that out... its cool that i dint get shot down... i have a lude and an s10, and the lude is down, so the sten is the way to go right now, and i must admit, i love rwd power w/ a v6 and a hurst short throw shifter in it... |

American cars don't suck!
The Type R is like the top of the range car, while the V6 Camaro is the base car. It should be SS vs Type R if anything. They are still apples and oranges though. |
