Re: 2000 Sierra 4x4 Brakes
I had a 2000 Silverado and did the brakes at 60k. My cousin is a GM Tech and said that I did well on the mileage. The inside right rear pad is usually gone in 40k - 50k miles. These trucks have rear proportioning brake setups that force more power to the rear ( I think 60% rear, 40% front.) This gives them the great stopping power without the rear end coming around during a hard stop. Maybe there is a problem with the engineering, but your problem is not uncommon. I had to replace rotors and pads when I did mine. The rotors were shot! Get a friend that works for a parts store or mechanic shop and the rotors are cheap! Good luck.
