73 Duster ignition ?

I need to replace the ignition key cylinder on my 73 Duster since the key no longer works. The ignition is in the "off" position and i need to know how to remove it without causing damage to the steering column. Can it be drilled out or does it have to be removed using a slide hammer?

Ok, i drilled out most of the key cylinder and can get the steering wheel to unlock. What i need to know is, if there is a pin holding the cylinder in place. I need to remove the cylinder inorder to replace it.
Anyone??
