Talking FTO + street racing

I own a mitsubishi FTO 97. it's vurrently sitting on 220 bhp with a couple of mods. I was wondering if anyone out there can help me get more without adding twin turbos. I'm starting up a street racing scene in a country area in Australia and need to be the quickest. Theres not much around that beats me, except for F N turbo skylines. Any ideas for taking them on????????????

Re: FTO + street racing

since this board is pretty dead, i think i can bring up this 'old' thread.

i think, its the best to swap your engine for a 4GSE engine, an inline 4 cilinder turbo'ed from the Mitsubishi Evo (Evo III till x i think, or all of them, cant remember). if you have enough money, swap the engine, gearbox, axles Etc. to make it 4wd. then you probally can hang with some skylines around.

Re: FTO + street racing

another consideration is swaping out you 6cyl mivec for the galant VR4 twin turbo v6 motor, this motor isn't to be confused with the 3000gt VR4 motor because the galant vr4 v6 model is a bit smaller and is rumored to be able to fit into the fto chassis with little mods. i would still swap axles and transmission for the awd which also has been done to the fto for rally applications.
