How to connect ipod to aux?

I recently purchased a 2008 Outlander and i want to connect the ipod to it. It is not the rockford stereo eventhough it looks just like it and it doesnt hav navigation system or screen. but ti does hav an AUX input. I hav look everywhere including the manual and i can seem to find any information on it.
Can someone please tell me what to do?

what is your head unit brand?

if it is a pioneer, you can get a certain cable so you can not only hook up your ipod, but control it with the pioneer HU. i forgot the name though, i think it's CRB-10 or something.

Well its the stock head unit which is also available with the rockford fosgate speaker option so i dont think its a pioneer. If u still think u recomend it or u know about somthing else please let me know. Thank you very much.

hmmmm. could you post a picture of your head unit and i'll see if there are other alternatives?

right off the bat though, i believe if your HU has an audio in, you can just hook up a cable to it and onto the audio out port of the ipod, although quality will be lesser.

Well this is the same as my head unit just that mine is not rockford, but it looks exactly the same...

ahhhh okay. go for hooking it up first to the aux in at the back of the HU. you'll definitely need to take off the radio for that.
