00 Astro misfire cylinder 1
I just picked up a 2000 Astro with 127k. its throwing a code for cylinder #1 misfire. it happens maybe every 3rd time I drive the truck, maybe less. When it happens the truck loses power but drives. Idles very rough as if it might stall but doesn't stall. So far it has new plugs, wires, cap and rotor all AC brand parts. Has a new MAF sensor and a new 105amp alternator....ive noticed it starts up a little "hard" from time to time..like a stumble at start but always starts (not sure if that's a great description). Ive been reading online possible problems but would like advice from actual owners whove had similar problems. Ive heard possible dirty EGR or a dreaded intake gasket. Thoughts?

Re: 00 Astro misfire cylinder 1
Sorry for the slow response, but in case you're still chasing this the intake gaskets are always suspect, especially in the corner cylinders. The injector pod (poppets) are also very sensitive to fuel pressure and clean fuel. Of course, as with all 262 V-6s the distributor caps are critical, and aftermarket caps are always suspects.
