As with any Porsche, they are very well made & built to last!

My 20 yar old Porsche still is as tight as the day it was made...No rattles or other noises that 1 month old domestic cars all seem to have...

Every time I stop & get gas or stop at a stoplight, I get someone saying thats a great looking car...Most think its new because I keep her clean...

It never fails to put a smile on your face...

Don't let no service history hold you back...Just make sure you get in inspected if your not in the know about them.

I test drove a old 79 928 a couple years back, I was sad it hadn't been taken care of at all, the interior was trashed, yet it still RAN GREAT...Quite a testimony on how well made these cars are built!

Re: Should I buy a 928?

I have had my 1984 928S for four years now, have been very happy with it, great to drive get looks everywhere I go in it and just again fun to drive. I have had my share of troubles, parts are costly but not as bad as my 4-wheelers, where a little muffler can cost 600 - 2000. It is an old car, maintance records are not going to help with a car this old so I would not worry that much about that. Your best bet is to have it inspected or if you know enough about cars to trust yourself check it out yourself. Lets put it this way do not expect to make money off the car this is something that you buy to enjoy, and that can be promised.

i have also been lusting after a 928 for some time now...a friend bought one and introduced me to her. WOW.

however, his experience has led me to belive that you don't buy one to replace a daily driver. he has had too much down time with his...all minor stuff and it hasn't bankrupted him but it still means finding an alternate mode of transportation to get into work for the next day or two.

i want one bad but not as a daily driver.

Re: Should I buy a 928?

Am sitting next to Mel in our office and she says that she once owned a 928S. The clutch gave on it TWICE. She's advised me to tell you to only buy one if you are totally stoked on the car, because then it won't matter if it does experience more downtime than drivetime.

But hey, they look incredible and she says they drive even better.

Stevo.
