Engine Kills after first start attempt
I have an S70 that kills immediately after starting. If I start it again for the second time, it starts right up and is fine. Just a little annoying. Anyone else had this problem or know what may be wrong? Thanks.

Re: Engine Kills after first start attempt
Hey PigBoT;
I'm new to this forum and happen to run across your thread. I've been a Volvo owner for 35 years. I've had this problem before and found out that the biggest reason for this problem is carbon buildup on the intake valves. Most of the time I use a gas additive made by Chevron called Techron. Years ago they only had one type of Techron, but now they have it for fuel injection cleaning, Throttle body cleaner, complete injection cleaner, and intake valve cleaner. The one that describes Intake valve cleaner is the one I would try. You may have to use it 2 to 3 times, but it does work. It's worth giving it a try for about $6.00 a bottle. |
