2005 Camry transmission shudder between 40-55 MPH
My Camry has been doing this a while. It's not horrible, and when I turn overdrive off, it's smooth. So I have just lived with it. Should I be concerned?

Re: 2005 Camry transmission shudder between 40-55 MPH
It may not be serious, but then it's impossible for me to tell over the internet. From your description, it may be a CV joint, motor mount, and many other things. Have you changed your transmission fluid? I would bring it to a mechanic you trust and have them drive it. Get two opinions if, according to the first mechanic, it is an expensive repair.
For future reference, when you are asking for information about a potential problem, it is important that you give us at least your engine type. I understand that you believe it is a transmission problem, but many characteristic problems only occur with one engine/transmission pair. V6 and I4 Toyota engines almost always have different transmission, brakes, computers, and chassis components.

I don't know how valid the claims made by this user are, but see this post:
