ok so I am going to seem like a total dumb ass but i dont have time to look for the info so if any one knows that would rock.. thanks.. My girlfriend just threw a rod in her 93 geo tracker and i need to put a new motor in it asap! what year of motors can i use? i found a cheep 89 8 valve? if i need to change over the intake and stuff.. that is not a big deal.. but i need it to connect to the 4x4 tranny for sure and run from the same ecu/harness.. any sugestions would be great! oh.. and what about the 16 valve JDM motor?? just a thought haha thanks

Re: new motor

Did she score the cylinder walls, etc.? Would a crank and bearing set be enough to repair the engine?

Stay with the same model and almost any engine from 89 to 94 should fit. However if you cross over into the 4 door hard tops its a different engine, transmission, bell housing, ECM etc.
