Rear spoiler

Ok guys, I've decided to get the shine street body kit. Now my car comes with the factory spoiler. With this kit, im sure everyone knows, that the spoilers need to be change. I was wondering how is the factory spoiler removed? If it is a hassle, would my car, 03 GS, looke good i with just the front rear lips, sides, and fender flares? thanks for your help!!

Re: Rear spoiler

i dont see a problem with our stock spoilers. i have no intentions on replacing mine. but i have seen a couple of eclipses with no spoiler and they look alright. im guessing that it is bolted to the rear hatch but im not sure.

Re: Rear spoiler

I was thinking last night of wether or not I would remove my factory spoiler. I saw a picture of the SS kit w/fender flares w/factory spoiler and it looked fine to me so I might go with that instead.

The spoiler is held onto the hatch by four bolts - look like 10mm to me. But I think the stock spoiler is distinctive, and lets other folks lknow that you have a unique automobile. The aftermarket ones look tacky, but I'm not sure if you want increased functionality, or what. Since I've only had mine up to 115, I haven't experienced any problem with aerodynamics with the stock spoiler. Seems to keep it nailed to the road pretty well.

Actually, the stock spoiler does do a good job of keeping the rear down during hi speed cornering. But as with any stock component, upgrades are available.

And I think this spoiler looks the best.

Re: Rear spoiler

High speed cornering...? Unless you corner at very high speeds, import spoilers are all about looks really.

Re: Rear spoiler

I know that I do go fast around corners and I appreciate the downforce.

Re: Rear spoiler

ur car will look good w/ the stock spoiler, and if you wanted to do anything i'd suggest removing the spoiler entirely, personally i think it blocks the rear view wayyy too much and it'll give u the kitted RS sleepr look
