It will not, the cause of the factory theft deterrent creating a no start condition will not be affected by the installation of an aftermarket alarm, it still will not start.

How hard is it to do the bypass I saw about adding the resistor but I am a real rookie when it come to automotive fixes and I haven't been able to find any shops around me that will work on it

Not sure on that year Cad. the system may be more sophisticated, google "bypass Cadillac theft deterrent".

Re: 1999 Cadillac deville alarm wont let me start car
ok thanks and sorry for all the questions but do you know if it is something i can take and have replaced or is it just something i will have to bypass and if i can have it replaced would you happen to know any estimated prices. but i looked up the bypass it says to measure the ohms or whatever on the chip of the key buy a resistor or resistors that add up to that and solder it into the white wires inside the orange colored one under the column is it something a rookie can do thanks

That will work if the wires to the ign. key cyl. in the column are broken. Will not correct an issue in the system components.

Re: 1999 Cadillac deville alarm wont let me start car
A bCM scanner would probably pin it down closer, but the system can be troublesome I would do the bypass, 1 hr job and go from there.

Re: 1999 Cadillac deville alarm wont let me start car
The components of the security system are actually located IN the radio. If you changed that and that is when the problem started then that's the problem. There isn't a way to bypass on that year. 98 model was just the same.
