noise from front passanger side strut

I have a 96 Vr4 and every time I hit any size bump, it makes a caaplunk sound. And the car seems to sway to both sides of the road without moving the wheel. It only does it on ruff roads. Any help????

DONT DRIVE THE CAR!!!

I had the same sound. The strut was broke at the mount in the engine bay. Get it in on a flatbed and into shop to get it fixed before you drive it anymore.

You can seriously damage your car by driving it around, if what I described is the case.
