Just Got 3kGT Today, Already Problems...

Ok guys, today i finally got the 3000gt i have wanted for quite a while now. The car is martinique Yellow and is a 94 SL. The car is perfect in everything single way except for two things: 1.) My cd player will not play the cds in my cd changer. and 2.) one of two hinges on my removeable moonroof has broken off. ok so back to number 1, I will press CD on the cd player, it will blink cd for about 4 seconds and then on the screen comes : CD 4 (example) : Track 00 and then it will wait about 5 seconds and the screen just ends up showing my time again. I have made sure of everything i could think of: from the cds being ok to play in the player, volume being up enough to hear, etc. Ok now number 2, i pulled the moonroof off, the hinge on the drivers side was bearly hanging on by some factory tape. I then tried putting the roof back on and at this point the hinge broke off completely. So i finally was able to jam it in enough to work for me now, but I can not remove the top and I still have about a 1/2 opening drivers side on the moonroof. I just am curious if i could order this piece somewhere. All I need is the hinge, and oh yea the top of the car looks horrible when the top is off, the big metal piece from it makes it look terrible, I dont know who would want it off anyway.

Well my cd changer on my 94 SL used to do that every now and then...make sure the plugs are connected correctly to the changer itself...I believe that was my problem (a loose wire connector). Also about the cd player, don't unplug your battery unless you have the security code for the stereo, it cost's $50-60 for the dealer to tell it to you.

Re: Just Got 3kGT Today, Already Problems...

you must have a cd player that reads mp3's as files then...I used to have one, but I sold it within a month and never had a chance to try the mp3 feature....but that's definitely the way to go.

whatever. the dealer might say that. in fact, they said it to me. i just called back and a different person answered the phone. i asked him for my code, and he just gave it to me.

plus, why should you have to pay 50 bucks for a little code? maybe they wanna make sure you didn't steal the radio? or even the car for that matter? but still, say you did steal the car, does $50 cover the dealer's ass for giving you a code to a dinky factory radio that you stole? it just doesn't make any sense. if they say you have to pay, you tell em what i just said, and that it doesn't make any sense, and that you're not gonna give em even 2 dollars for that stupid little code. and you can give them countless quantities of information proving that you're the owner of the car, adn that you didn't steal anything.

dealers are always full of crap, always trying to make 50 bucks wherever they can.
