no such thing as a 'd16d6'....what car is it supposed to be out of? all d series tranny's will bolt up to d series blocks....the thing you have to worry about is the mounts...stick w/ a 92-up d series tranny and it'll bolt up fine.... I would watch out for the tall gearing of the tranny's on the 1.5 l car's though...

You know I did think there was a D16d6 eather but that is what the guy said so that is what I posted I just e-mailed him again and asked him what car it came out of. I think he may of meant that it came out of a 96+ civic 1.6L If it did come out of that car is the gear ratios better on that year civic then the 92-95? Or will it lug more? I know that the 96+ trannies are stronger then the 92-95 Tons of people have problems with the 92-95 tranny's grinding second gear.

Well he told me it came out of a 88-91 civic non VTEC he said like it was a D16a6 or something like that. Do you think this would be a good tranny to put into my 95 civic ex coupe. It should be stronger then the one I have now. I just want to know if you guys think it would be an ok tranny to drop into my civic.

Ok, well if you want to drop it you are going to have to convert from a hydraulic actuated clutch(which you have now) to a cable actuated clutch which came with the d16a6. I think Hasport sells a conversion kit if I am not mistaken.
