Old Elise vs New Elise (looks)
We know the USA Version will have more horsepower, more tweaks and solutions to the smaller problems the original had (leaks etc.) But what I can't understand is why people don't like the new styling. It's the REASON I joined this forum, and there wouldn't be hype if it didn't look good (and it's officially released in the US during my BDay =)
The old style looks too much like an old school Porche, and though it has it's nice and classy look, it's a design that's fading, and it desires more. The new version is soooo much better compared to the other ugly-ass retro-concept cars they throw out nowadays to the market, it improves on the original on every curve =) It looks awesome from the front and/or the back, it's smooth, sleek, and looks extremely mean ; it stands out in the best way I can see =) Old http://www.ktsmotorsportsgarage.com/...l/lotus99a.jpg New http://www.motornet.ie/graphics/news_10090102.jpg I just don't see what's wrong with it. -Manta- |

Re: Old Elise vs New Elise (looks)
I haven't seen one in person yet, but from all the pics I've seen, I think it looks very good... very agressive....
when will these be hitting the streets over here in the US? |

If you want an elise, you need to start planning now. There are people who have been on the waiting list for 2 years who still dont have theirs. I was on the list 2.4 years and just got mine a few months ago. There ARE cars popping up on the net and at dealers that are being sold, some even around MSRP...but you cant just walk in and buy one of these like a honda.

Re: Old Elise vs New Elise (looks)
They'll never match the look of the S1 Elise or match the charm and driving enjoyment either for that matter! S2's have a Japanese styling to the front too artificial - S1 has character, bags of oversteer a much more rounded package....until you drive an S1 you havn't driven a true Lotus!!

Re: Old Elise vs New Elise (looks)
I've always been fascinated by the Elise even the Exige but the old styles are a bit stale compared to the more exciting rivals in the market nowadays. The 111R simply looks gorgeous though. Toyota-made engine replaces the somewhat outdated Rover K-Series that has powered the previous Elise models.

How old is this post, that "new" style is on the way out. It's a great car though, I wish I had the time to drive mine more...of course the middle of winter isn't really ideal.
