2005 Bonneville door locks/window controls
Hi All,
I have a 2005 Bonneville. Just recently the doors will lock and unlock on their own. The controls(windows/mirror) and lock on the drivers side works intermittently. The window and locks on the passenger side work correctly. At least I haven't found a time they don't work. Coincidentally, things started acting up after the drivers side widow was left open and a little rain came in. I have removed the mirror/window control panel from the drivers side, unplugged the connector, cleaned and put electrical grease on the contacts. No help. I did the same thing with another connector I could reach inside the door panel. No help. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate reading them. Thanks, Vic |

Re: 2005 Bonneville door locks/window controls
Since this happened, after a possible water intrusion, your vehicle has a driver's door module.........you would have to pull the door panel to access it.......check the harness connections to it.....maybe water got in it.....
As you can see from this wiring diagram, that door module controls everything..... |

Thanks Tech II. I think I fixed it but won't know for sure for a few days. I'll post what I did if it is indeed fixed.

Re: 2005 Bonneville door locks/window controls
I'm confident the problem has been fixed. There were 2 vias that were intermittently open between the 5V regulator and the VCC pin (#28) of the microprocessor. All the electronics are on/in the control panel(switches for windows, mirror, etc.). I don't know if I got a marginal PC board or vias are a problem with this design as a number of years ago I had a problem in which one window wouldn't go in one direction and it to had an open via on this same PC board.
