Smile how to remove head restraint

98 lumina,(color blue)base model.
207,700 miles on it.
drivers seat shot.
today placed passenger side front seat into drivers position.
feels great.
closest junk yard match i can find is color "gray".
is there some special way to remove the head restraint from my old drivers seat.
i want to put it on the gray seat.
also=-
planning to try to install a pontiac vibe console i already have.
will try to use the original lumina matching (blue)top on it .
i,ve been spoiled. gotta have that arm rest.
and if that don,t work , maybe a junkyard monte carlo console.

Re: how to remove head restraint

There is usually a small hole in the trim ring at the base of the shaft that goes into the seat. A small tool is inserted into the hole when the headrest is all the way up to release each side of the headrest.
