brake message

06 Silverado, service brakes message comes on when hitting the brakes hard. What causes this? Is it possible fluid is low or faulty sensor in master cylinder?

the light may indeed be this sensor/connector if the fluid is at a good level.

since when you hit the brakes the fluid will move. if your not loosing any fluid I would say the sensor ..

if you need some fluid this is because your brake material pads/shoes are worn or you have a leak. add some and see if it drops in a week or so..
