Talking Newbe

Hi, It's a wonder how I found this forum. To think, a forum just about the cressida. Is it just me or does this car make you want to drive fast, but I want to go faster. Any Ideas on how to mod the engine for more power, or can I put a newer Supra engine in it.:sun:

engine

you can drop in an 7m-ge engine, 7m-gte engine or if you want 330 horses go for the 1JZ-GTE or the 2JZ-GTE (twin turbo. sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.)

How

How easy is it to put a 7m-gte (1JZ-GTE & 2JZ-GTE too expensive) in my '82 Cressida? What kind of modifications does it take? I didn't think it was possible to upgrade the engine.

Smile hi all

i have to agree the cressida is a very good car i own an 82 toyota cressida (MX62 boxy shaped one), the only problem i have had with this car is a blown head and am about to put a 1JZ-GTE into it but apart from that the cressida is a very strong and reliable car, even with a blown head this car still has a heap of power and grunt for a 116kw 5M-E engine, i will post pictures of the conversion up soon when i start.

It is an easy conversion to do as i was going to undertake that particular conversion but decided against it as the 5M-E, 7M-GE and 7M-GTE all suffer from the same problem they all have alloy heads, and all have the potential to blow, so the best option would be to source a 1JZ-GTE or 2JZ-GTE half cut with transmisson and then put that in.
