they were both newer...
but hell, if you are buyin a car, its not for the back seat... i dont care if it has one... im not ever in it!!!
well, um, yeah, so...
and im tall, so backseats suck at all...

but i guess, no one on this board is really worry about the backseat space... and arent the gti and a4 similar weights?
that is the other factor i look at more than power or anything, b/c heavy cars suck.

Legroom - front (in.) 41.3 41.5
Legroom - rear (in.) 33.4 33.5


But you are right leave that for the passenger to think about.

Length (in.) 178 164.9
Wheelbase (in.) 103 98.9

Difference between 1.8T of A4 and GTI is 50 lbs.
Difference between 2.8 and VR6 is 250 lbs.

That's why I said hatchback design is more efficient in giving interior room.
